The intent of this page is to prove this camera's ParaSpectrum capabilities

PARASPECTRUM IS A PROPRIETARY FILTERING SYSTEM WHICH SEPARATES THE ULTRAVIOLET (UV) AND INFRARED (IR), AND BLOCKS THE VISIBLE LIGHT.

BLOCKING THE VISIBLE LIGHT IS CRUCIAL IN ORDER FOR THIS SYSTEM TO BE EFFECTIVE. VISIBLE LIGHT OVERTAKES OTHER WAVELENGTHS SUCH AS UV AND IR THUS MAKING SOME OF THESE WAVELENGTHS NOT VISIBLE TO THE CAMERA BY THE "OVEREXPOSURE EFFECT", THEREFORE IT BECOMES A DELICATE BALANCE OF LIGHT AND WAVELENGTH DENSITY.

AFTER MUCH RESEARCH AND TESTING, WE FOUND THE SOLUTION. OUR PROPRIETARY QUARTZ CRYSTAL FILTER BLOCKS ALL VISIBLE LIGHT, IS FULLY OPENED TO UV LIGHT AND OPENED TO THE IR AS WELL.

WE OWN THIS FILTERING TECHNOLOGY! WE ORIGINATED THE FULL SPECTRUM CRAZE BUT SINCE WE DO NOT OWN THE NAME, WE HAD TO CHANGE THE NAME TO PARASPECTRUM SO THAT INEFFECTIVE COPYCATS CAN NO LONGER LEGALLY CAPITALIZE ON OUR SUCCESS.

THE SPECIAL QUARTZ CRYSTAL FILTER SEPARATES THE UV AND THE IR THEREFORE NO SPECIAL LIGHTING IS NEEDED. ANY LIGHT SOURCE WILL DO. NO EXPENSIVE SPECIAL LIGHTING NEEDED!

ALL WHITE FLASHLIGHTS, INCANDESCENT LIGHTS OR NORMAL EVERYDAY TUNGSTEN LIGHTS GIVE OFF IR AND UV LIGHT AS WELL, HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT TO USE PURE UV LIGHTS OR FLASHLIGHTS , PLEASE TAKE CAUTION AND WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR SUCH AS UV BLOCKING SUNGLASSES BECAUSE LONG DIRECT EXPOSURE TO ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT WILL DAMAGE YOUR SKIN AND EYES. THERE IS NO RISK OF SUCH EXPOSURE FROM LOOKING THROUGH OUR CAMERA'S MONITOR.

PLEASE USE A GOOD LIGHT SOURCE FOR DARK ENVIRONMENTS. WE SUGGEST 200 LUMENS OR HIGHER. 600 LUMENS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT DUE TO THEIR CONSTRUCTION, MOST SILICON CHIPS IN GENERAL HAVE INHERENT LIMITATIONS TO UV LIGHT SENSITIVITY. IT'S A HARD TECHNOLOGY TO MASTER. UV PHOTOGRAPHY CALLS FOR LONGER EXPOSURE TIMES FOR STILL PICTURES AND A BRIGHT LIGHT SOURCE FOR VIDEO. THIS CAMERA DOES NOT HAVE AN EXPOSURE TIME FEATURE, HOWEVER SOME IMAGE SETTINGS (such as the EV, ISO and WB setting) WILL FOOL THE CAMERA TO ACCEPT MORE UV AND IR LIGHT IN TO THE CHIP.

This is our third successful camcorder project with more research and development added from the previous old full spectrum technology project. The focus being wavelengths, densities and functionality. The results of this project are more than spectacular.

Please keep in mind that due to the camera's CMOS chip design, the camera can only see a portion of the UV wavelength between 320nm and 400nm (Ultraviolet), this is called UV/A light. The effect is very powerful though as humans cannot see UV/A and ghosts are known to reside beyond human vision. The theory for UV and ghostly phenomenon is founded on what you see from the corner of your eye as this portion of your eye has the capability to see more UV/A than the front portion of your eye. 

On the Infrared side, this upgraded filter allows more Infrared light to pass through for a brighter picture, however the wavelengths were tweaked so that overlap would not be an issue.

As you can see from the chart above, the UV part of the filter (on the left) is quite extensive. The visible light is blocked and the Infrared part goes beyond 650nm to the 1200nm range but is allowed to enter the lens. The IR portion of the filter highlights the same wavelength areas where ghosts reside, much like our DEEP IR technology.

SPECIAL NOTE!

OUR TEST RESULTS HAVE SHOWN THAT A PORTION OF THE UV/A SPECTRUM (320nm to 400nm) CAN BE DETECTED BY THIS CAMCORDER. THIS IS GOOD ENOUGH TO CALL IT A PARASPECTRUM CAMCORDER WHERE A PORTION OF THE UV SPECTRUM IS SEEN.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT MANUFACTURE THIS CAMCORDER, ONLY CONVERT IT. THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT ATTEST TO THE CAMCORDER’S UV CAPABILITIES. UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A BEST EFFORT ATTEMPT AT ATTAINING UV PHOTOGRAPHY USING AN INEXPENSIVE CAMCORDER. ALL OF THE UV / IR CONVERSION COMPONENTS ARE CORRECT.

OUR LAB TESTS RESULTS SHOWN IN THE CHART ABOVE COULD NOT BE VISIBLY DEMONSTRATED, THEREFORE WE DEVISED WAYS TO DEMONSTRATE THE CAMERA'S UV AND IR CAPABILITIES THROUGH A VARIETY OF THE FOLLOWING VISUAL TESTS.

Below you will see two comparison pictures of the same exact flowers. The pictures on the left were taken with our normal HD camcorder in still picture mode (not converted), the ones on the right were taken with our PARASPECTRUM camcorder in still picture mode (converted). The lens and CMOS chip (camcorder's electronic eye) is the same. Unfortunately we got too close and UV is of a different wavelength so the pictures on the right are a little blurry, this is a physical property of UV. You can clearly see that the pictures on the right contain dark spots or lines that point to the center of each flower. This is the UV color produced by these flowers for insect pollination. UV is difficult to capture in still pictures because of the light's long wavelength, therefore a long exposure is needed in order to highlight more prominent UV patterns, however, the basic concept is proven here. UV markings in the flower help pollinating insects like bees find the core of the flower where the pollen is contained.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PURE UV TESTS CONDUCTED ON THE T-700

We needed to further prove that our PARASPECTRUM filter would allow the T-700's to see further in to the the UV/A spectrum with more clarity than our previous projects. Our optical engineer overlapped IR blocking filters to our ParaSpectrum filter so that only UV light would come through the lens. No visible light and no Infrared light, just pure UV. The overlap procedure made the lens go out of focus a bit though.

The picture below was taken with this modified overlapped ParaSpectrum filter and the T-700. The results were phenomenal as the center of the flower below shows dark markings on its petals and a very dark center. Normal light shows this flower with bright white petals and a yellow center. The UV portion of this flower shows up very nicely. This test shows that the T-700 has more UV/A sensitivity.
